As part of the partnership signed with the University of Medicine of Ajman in the United Arab Emirates, IOB will welcome in Bordeaux, from April 1 to 6, 2019, Emirati students. For 5 days, these students will discover our approach to osteopathy, participate in some of our classes and visit the territory.

After benefitting from the warm welcome of Ajman University last September, it is the turn of IOB to invite its Emirati counterparts during an internship to reinforce osteopathic practice as well as discovery. Bordeaux, Arcachon Basin and Paris.

For this internship, two main objectives have been defined :

  • to offer UAE students a complete immersion in French culture and the practice of osteopathy at IOB ;
  • to promote academic and academic exchanges between BIO and foreign universities.

For this first exchange, the University of Ajman will send us students, interns and doctors from the Department of Dentistry. As a result, the trip will focus mainly on cranio-mandibular osteopathy.

The study tour theme will be cranio-mandibular osteopathy

More specifically, the Institute of Osteopathy of Bordeaux has planned a very dense program for its trainees. Thus, our guests will have the chance to study the close links between the cranio-mandibular approach in osteopathy and dentistry. They will participate in clinical consultations supervised by our experienced teachers. They will also learn how to apply temporomandibular dysfunction treatment techniques and cranial osteopathy techniques that are very useful in the practice of dental surgery, orthodontics and occlusodontics. They will also visit the hospital services of Bordeaux having a link with osteopathy.

Then, since a trip to France would not be complete without a part devoted to tourism discovery, we will take our students in the picturesque neighborhoods of Bordeaux and the Arcachon Basin. The ascent of the Dune of Pilat will certainly be a highlight of their stay. In addition, the entire delegation of Ajman will devote two additional days of their stay to the visit of the city of Paris.

Ajman students will enjoy the Bordeaux “miroir d’eau”

We are confident that this new partnership with the University of Ajman will be a success and allow our guests and students to share their knowledge and culture.
